Open the app, go to Recover, and pick a day from before you deleted it. You are browsing that day the way you browse your own folders. Click the file, check it is the right one, bring it back. The Timeline keeps a copy of every day, forever, and nothing on your computer is overwritten. It takes about a minute.
No. Everything is built so you do it yourself: browse any day, open a file to check it before you restore, bring back one document or an entire folder. No ticket, no waiting, no explaining your problem to somebody. If you get stuck, we are here, but the point is that you should not need us.
You open EverBack and restore. It is the same restore you would do for one deleted file, just bigger: pick a point in time from before the attack, select your folders, press restore. If the attacker deleted your regular copies, the Vault still holds the last ten nights. Your computer can read those copies and restore from them, but it cannot change them. You do not negotiate with anyone and you do not wait for anyone.
Use another one. Install EverBack on a clean machine, sign in, unlock with your private key, and restore everything there. Your copies do not live on the broken computer, so its condition does not matter. This is also how people move to a new laptop.
No. Files are locked (encrypted) on your own computer before they leave it, with a key that only exists there. We store sealed boxes we cannot open. This also means you must keep your recovery kit safe. If both your office and your key are lost, nobody can unlock the copies, including us.
Fair question. We are asking you to trust us for years. Your copies are stored in professional datacenters (US or EU, your choice) in an open format, and every customer receives a recovery kit that allows restoring files independently of EverBack. Your data is never hostage to our existence.
No. After the first backup (which runs quietly over a day or two), only changes are copied. Usually megabytes per hour. During working hours the app deliberately goes easy on your internet connection.
Sync is not backup. When ransomware encrypts your files, sync faithfully uploads the encrypted versions, and shared folders spread the damage. EverBack keeps separate, sealed, historical copies going back years. Ransomware on your machine can read them, but it cannot change them.
You download the app, open it, and choose what to protect: your whole drive or specific folders. The first backup starts immediately, and that night your first copy is sealed in the Vault. From then on you’ll mostly forget we exist.
